Transitional Payments

A PharmData report to show which pharmacies are receiving Transitional Payments and to check if a pharmacy is currently receiving Transitional Payments.

From 1st January 2022, community pharmacy contractors in England who dispense 101 prescription items or more in any month will receive a monthly Transitional Payment which consists of two separate payments - a dispensing payment and a service payment.

For the pharmacy contractors to receive the monthly service payment of the Transitional Payment they must have both:

  1. claimed for at least one New Medicine Service (NMS) in the previous month
  2. been registered to provide the Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) on the NHSBSA Manage Your Service (MYS) platform for greater than or equal to half of the number of full days in the previous month

From November 2022 the service element of the Transitional Payment will be increased to 75% of the Transitional Payment. The service element will be calculated based on the total income received for advanced services (excluding flu vaccination) provided.
